Research Compliance Policy
Effective: March 7, 2026
Pepta Labs is committed to operating within the regulatory framework applicable to research chemical suppliers in the United States. This page describes our compliance policies, labeling standards, anti-diversion measures, and the principles that guide our operations.
Core Operating Principles
Principle 1: Research Use Only
Every product we sell is designated, labeled, marketed, and sold exclusively as a Research Use Only (RUO) chemical reference material for in-vitro laboratory research. We do not sell drugs, supplements, or food products.
Principle 2: No Therapeutic Claims
We make zero claims that any product prevents, treats, cures, mitigates, or diagnoses any disease or condition. Product descriptions reference published peer-reviewed literature for informational context only and explicitly disclaim any connection to our products.
Principle 3: Independent Verification
Every batch is tested by an independent third-party analytical laboratory. We do not rely on internal-only testing. Certificates of Analysis are publicly downloadable before purchase.
Principle 4: Transparent Operations
Our pricing, policies, terms of service, and compliance framework are publicly documented. We do not operate behind paywalls, VIP tiers, or obfuscated structures.
Product Labeling Standards
Every product sold by Pepta Labs carries the following labeling, both on the physical vial label and on the corresponding product page:
Physical Vial Label
Compound name and dosage. Lot/batch number matching COA. "For Laboratory Research Use Only" designation. "Not for Human or Animal Consumption" warning. CAS number (where applicable). Storage conditions.
Product Page
"Research Use Only" designation in product header. "Not for human or animal consumption" in product details. "Not FDA-approved for therapeutic use" in storage/safety section. Literature disclaimer on research citations. COA download link with batch number.
Website Content Compliance
Published Literature Citations
Product pages cite published peer-reviewed studies for informational context. Each citation includes the study title, journal name, author names, and PubMed ID for independent verification. Every citation section is preceded by a disclaimer stating: "The following findings are from published peer-reviewed literature and do not represent claims about this product. This product is sold for laboratory research use only."
Mechanism-of-Action Descriptions
Mechanism descriptions use observational, preclinical language exclusively. We describe what has been "observed" in published research, not what our products "do." We use qualifying language such as "in preclinical studies," "in animal models," "in vitro," and "observed to modulate." We never use active therapeutic verbs like "heals," "treats," "cures," "prevents," "improves," or "enhances" in relation to our products.
Category Naming
Product categories use scientific nomenclature rather than condition-based or therapeutic language. For example, we use "Metabolic Regulation & Energy Homeostasis" instead of "Weight Loss" and "Cytoprotective Peptides" instead of "Healing Peptides."
No Dosage Guidance
We do not provide dosage recommendations, administration protocols, cycling schedules, or any other guidance that could be construed as instructions for human or animal use. Product pages describe compound specifications (molecular weight, sequence, purity) relevant to laboratory handling only.
Anti-Diversion Program
Pepta Labs maintains an active anti-diversion program designed to prevent products from being redirected to non-research uses. Our measures include:
Order Review
We review orders for patterns that may indicate non-research intended use. Factors considered include order patterns, stated purpose (where provided), and publicly available information about the purchaser. We reserve the right to decline any order at our sole discretion.
Terms Enforcement
Buyers must agree to our Terms of Service certifying research-only use before completing a purchase. Violations result in permanent account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
Labeling Integrity
All products ship with "Research Use Only" and "Not for Human or Animal Consumption" labeling. Removal, alteration, or obscuring of this labeling by the purchaser constitutes a breach of our Terms of Service.
Analytical Quality Program
Third-Party HPLC Testing
Every batch is analyzed by an independent laboratory using reversed-phase HPLC to verify purity ≥99%. Chromatograms and purity percentages are documented on the COA.
Mass Spectrometry
Molecular identity is confirmed via electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). Observed molecular weight is compared to the theoretical molecular weight of the target sequence.
Batch Traceability
Each production batch receives a unique lot number. This lot number appears on the vial label, the COA, and in our internal records. Buyers can verify that their vial's lot number matches the COA.
Public COA Access
COAs are published on each product page and downloadable as PDF before purchase. No account creation or email request is required to access COA documentation.
Regulatory Awareness
Pepta Labs actively monitors the evolving regulatory landscape for research peptides. We are aware of the following regulatory developments and have structured our operations accordingly:
FDA Enforcement Actions
The FDA has increased enforcement against vendors making therapeutic claims about research peptides, selling compounds explicitly for human use, or operating as de facto drug distributors under the guise of "research chemical" labeling. Pepta Labs is structured to avoid these issues through strict RUO labeling, absence of therapeutic claims, and the buyer certification framework described above.
Compounding Restrictions
The FDA has restricted the compounding of certain peptides (including BPC-157, TB-500, and several others) by moving them to prohibited lists under 503A and 503B of the FD&C Act. These restrictions apply to compounding pharmacies preparing medications for individual patients. They do not, on their face, apply to the sale of research chemical reference materials labeled for in-vitro laboratory use. Pepta Labs is not a compounding pharmacy, does not hold a pharmacy license, and does not sell products for therapeutic administration.
ITC Actions
The International Trade Commission has issued general and limited exclusion orders related to certain peptide compounds, particularly in connection with trademark enforcement by pharmaceutical manufacturers. Pepta Labs monitors ITC proceedings and adjusts its product catalog as necessary to comply with any applicable orders.
State-Level Actions
Several states have initiated enforcement actions related to peptide distribution. Pepta Labs monitors state-level developments and reserves the right to restrict sales to specific jurisdictions if necessary.
Regulatory Cooperation
Pepta Labs is committed to cooperating with legitimate regulatory inquiries. If contacted by the FDA, DEA, FTC, a state attorney general, or any other regulatory or law enforcement authority regarding our operations, we will cooperate fully and in good faith. We maintain order records, customer communications, and compliance documentation as described in our Privacy Policy.
We welcome regulatory guidance that clarifies the framework for research chemical suppliers and are prepared to adjust our operations in response to any new regulatory requirements or guidance documents issued by the FDA or other competent authorities.
Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns about potential misuse or diversion of research products, please contact us at compliance@peptalabs.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
