Its sequence is residues 1-29 of the 44-residue human GRF sequence, closed with a C-terminal primary amide rather than a free carboxylic acid, and all residues are L-amino acids. The single methionine at position 27 accounts for the one sulfur atom in the formula. Every alias in the table refers to the same molecule: GRF(1-29)-NH2 and GHRH(1-29) are fragment notation, and Groliberin is an older name. CAS 86168-78-7 identifies the free peptide; acetate and trifluoroacetate salts are registered separately, which is why the salt form matters when you compare a vendor listing against a database entry (see the CAS number and molecular weight reference).

Do not confuse it with Modified GRF(1-29). Modified GRF(1-29), often sold as CJC-1295 without DAC, is also a 29-residue amide but carries four substitutions (D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15, Leu27). What an HPLC/MS report shows

The RP-HPLC section reports purity as the area of the main peak as a percentage of all peaks in the chromatogram, together with the column, mobile phase, gradient, detection wavelength and retention time. A single dominant peak with small, well-separated minor peaks is what a high-purity sermorelin lot looks like. The MS section reports the observed mass, usually from an electrospray spectrum in which the peptide appears as multiply charged ions ([M+3H]3+, [M+4H]4+ and so on) that the instrument software deconvolutes to a neutral mass.

Comparing observed mass to theoretical mass

The number to compare is the deconvoluted neutral mass against the theoretical value. Sermorelin's average molecular weight is 3357.93 Da; PubChem's computed monoisotopic mass is 3355.82 Da. Which value the report should match depends on how the instrument resolves the isotope pattern, so a report may legitimately state either, and agreement within about 1 Da is the normal expectation. An observed mass near 3367.95 Da indicates Modified GRF(1-29) rather than sermorelin, and a mass near 3373.9 Da (M+16) points to oxidation of Met27 to the sulfoxide, a known degradation product of methionine-containing peptides.

What the report does not show

An HPLC/MS report does not measure net peptide content. A lyophilized peptide salt contains counter-ion (acetate or trifluoroacetate) and residual water, so 5 mg of gross powder is not 5 mg of free peptide; the TFA vs acetate guide explains the difference. Both are useful and they answer different questions.
