Mechanism of Action

Sermorelin (GRF 1-29) is the biologically active N-terminal fragment of endogenous GHRH. It binds pituitary GHRH receptors to trigger cAMP-PKA-mediated GH gene transcription and pulsatile release. Extensive safety data spanning decades.

Key Research Findings

  • Approximately doubled 12-hour mean GH concentration in healthy elderly men
  • Long-term administration increased lean body mass by 1.26 kg in older adults
  • Preserves pituitary GH reserve and feedback sensitivity unlike exogenous GH
