Mechanism of Action

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood. It enhances delta-wave EEG through GABA-A receptor positive allosteric modulation, inhibits CRH release to reduce cortisol, and modulates circadian rhythm through suprachiasmatic nucleus signaling.

Key Research Findings

  • Increased total sleep by 59% within 130 minutes of treatment in human volunteers
  • Selectively enhanced deep slow-wave sleep without suppressing REM or causing morning sedation
  • Significantly lowered chronic pain levels in 6 of 7 patients with migraine and headache disorders
