Peptides vs SARMs vs Steroids: Research Classification Guide

Published: 2026-03-10Updated: 2026-03-10Category: Guides

Peptides, SARMs, and anabolic steroids are three distinct compound classes that are frequently conflated. They differ fundamentally in structure, mechanism, and legal status.

Key Difference

Peptides act through diverse receptor systems — GLP-1, GHRH, ghrelin, melanocortin — and do not directly activate androgen receptors. SARMs selectively bind androgen receptors. Steroids non-selectively activate all androgen-responsive tissues and are Schedule III controlled substances.

Pepta Labs sells peptides only. No SARMs, steroids, or DEA-scheduled compounds. All products are research chemical reference materials for in-vitro use. See Legal Status and Compliance Policy.
